Greetings from Andrews Family Chiropractic

Welcome to our blog!!

Before I start any posts regarding the exciting events and activities we are doing here, or reasons YOU should be coming to our office, lets start with a plain and simple introduction!

Hi!  I am Dr. Tawnda Andrews, most often addressed as Dr. Tawnda.  I grew up near Grand Rapids, Minnesota.  After graduating from Itasca Community College in Grand Rapids, I went on to pursue my Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, MN. While there I also received my Bachelors of Science in Human Biology and was certified in acupuncture.  I relocated to the Mankato Area and purchased Mapleton Chiropractic formally of Mapleton, now Andrews Family Chiropractic, in Mankato, MN.

I purchased Mapleton Chiropractic (now Andrews Family Chiropractic of Mankato) in June of 2004 with a family focus in mind.  Family chiropractic care is of great importance to me.  So much, that I have taken many post educational hours in pediatric and pregnancy care and completed my certificate in pregnancy and pediatrics in 2007 through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. I love working with kids from newborn to teens; helping them achieve their best possible growth and development and success through school. I also enjoy working with pregnant women striving for a comfortable pregnancy, labor, and delivery of a health baby. With four children of my own, I am able to connect with my pregnant and new parent patients on a whole new level.

I use a natural and conservative approach to their health concerns.

I love what I do and feel very passionate about educating others about the many benefits of chiropractic.  I not only practice chiropractic, but I live it.  I count chiropractic as one of the top reasons I was able to make it to 35 weeks COMFORTABLY while pregnant with my triplets.  Even with my first pregnancy, I was pain free.  In addition, our family enjoys maintenance chiropractic care...just like we recommend for others.  Why?  Not only do we feel better but we sleep better, get over colds faster, are less grumpy and with four kids only our oldest (almost 5) has taken a single dose of antibiotics.    I benefit greatly from living a chiropractic lifestyle and KNOW that if you are missing this important part of a healthy lifestyle, you could be missing out on not only being pain free but also functioning at optimal levels.

As you read above, yes I am a mother of 4.  Evelyn our oldest will be 5 in September and we have 22 month old triplets: Ella, Henry and Grant.  Being a mom is my other great love.  Currently I work Mondays and Wednesdays to be able to stay home part time and care for our children.  We love to be outside, read, and look forward to becoming more active now that the "babies" are getting older.  Our first family vacation will be to the Como Zoo and Mall of America Aquarium.  We are looking forward to building special memories with them.

I look forward to sharing more about chiropractic and our office.  Once again, WELCOME!
